Participate in Research
The Autism Research Centre carries out research studies into various areas of autism.
Our current and past projects have helped develop new techniques for diagnosing autism, helped us to learn more about autism itself, and helped find new ways of supporting people either living with autism or supporting people who do. None of these projects would be possible without help from our volunteers.
If you would like to help our research you can join our database of volunteers, the Cambridge Autism Research Database (CARD).
What happens if you join CARD?
If you are aged 16 or over and are either an autistic individual or the parent of an autistic child you can volunteer to be a member of CARD, we will ask you to fill out some information about yourself and then answer some questionnaires online. We can then use the information you provide to aid our research.
In addition, you will be signing up to our mailing list to hear about new research projects. The database manager will email you to tell you about projects which might be of interest to you, or invite you to be a member of an advisory panel for a new research project we hope to undertake.
You are under no obligation to participate in all or even any of the projects. You will usually receive one email per month although depending on the criteria of a project you may not always receive an email (example criteria may be gender, age or location).
Any information you provide is entirely confidential and you can read more here about how we use your research data. You may opt out at any time and we will remove your details from our volunteer database. See our Privacy Policy and our Terms and Conditions for more information about how we use the data you provide.
