Sathish Kumar

Research Assistant

Sathish is a research assistant working on the Autism-Children’s Improvisational Music Therapy Evaluation (CHIME) trial with Dr. Claire Howlin. He’ll help evaluate the effectiveness of improvisational music therapy for autistic children.

Sathish completed his BA Psychology at University of California Riverside, and his MSc Cognitive Neuroscience at Durham University. During his studies, he worked at many projects throughout the Mysore district of India, bolstering the lack of resources and staff at a variety of initiatives for those with mental health concerns and/or additional needs. These include a psychiatric department and numerous grassroots organisations caring for those in the community living with neurodevelopmental conditions, including Autism, and people with mental illnesses. He also found interests in statistics with large datasets using programs such as SPSS, R and Python. Combining these two dimensions, he wants to integrate them to help with the CHIME trial.
